Check out these tips on how to (safely) get out of bed. Yes, there IS a right way to do this …
First, take your time! Especially if you wake up sore and with achy joints.
- Start off by stretching and make sure to breathe and gently pump that oily fluid and lubrication back into your back, first thing in the morning.
- Bring your knees up to your chest, one leg at a time. Gentle movement in bed helps pump your natural synovial fluid into the compressed joints.
- Make sure to **keep those knees together**! Then roll to your side, with your knees and thighs together.
- Push up sideways with knees together and hands on the bed, and swing your legs on to the floor to get up.
